WEDNESDAY FINALS: Dayton Stays On Top; George Mason Wins First-Ever League Game!

Before we head to the leaders, we congratulate George Mason for capturing their first-ever Atlantic 10 league victory tonight, a 101-73 win at home over UMass. Janaa Pickard led the Patriots with a double-double, 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Georgetown transfer Sandra Ngoie added 23.

George Mason hit ten three-pointers en route to the victory. Congratulations to head coach Nyla Milleson, her staff, and the players on the breakthrough victory.

It was harder than they probably expected, but Dayton leaves Rhode Island still firmly atop the A-10 standings, defeating the Rams 73-66. A lot of the Flyers' struggles were self-made, shooting just 32 percent from the field. Andrea Hoover led Dayton with 21 points and 11 boards, helping head coach Jim Jabir's Flyers the lone one-loss team in the Atlantic 10.

Dayton sends their thanks to St. Louis for helping them separate from the pack as second place St. Bonaventure fell to the Billikens tonight, 72-65. The Bonnies fell to 8-3 in the Atlantic 10, tied now for second with Duquesne.

And, in a classic "Big 5" battle in Philly played before the snowstorm arrived, Cindy Griffin's St. Joseph's Hawks picked up a very important win, 76-63 over La Salle. The win helps the Hawks leapfrog the Explorers in the A-10 standings, now tied for 5th with George Washington.

GW will try to break that tie with a win at home tomorrow night versus VCU. As of now, the 9pm ET game Thursday night is still on, but the East Coast winter storm that continues all day Thursday may change that.
