In the battle for second place, St. Bonaventure prevailed at home, 74-64 over George Washington for the inside track on the #2 seed in next week's Atlantic 10 Tournament in Richmond.
La Salle draws a half-game shy of tying VCU for 7th in the league with a 68-63 win over a suddenly struggling Duquesne. The Dukes have dropped 3 of their last 4 by a combined 8 points.
Fordham defeated George Mason 71-52, trying to improve their seed position in the crowded middle range of seeds in the Atlantic 10, while top seed Dayton kept rolling with a 67-58 win over St. Louis.
And, in a game covered earlier tonight here, Richmond pulled away from VCU and held off one late charge to pick up an important 73-60 victory in the Robins Center. The Rams are the first Atlantic 10 team to finish their regular season, 9-7 in conference play, 21-8 overall.
