Butler Continues Big Season, Named Player Of Week

George Mason’s Natalie Butler Named A-10 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
La Salle’s Edwards Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — George Mason’s Natalie Butler was named as the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while La Salle’s Shaquana Edwards earned Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were for games played Feb. 5-11.


Edwards, a redshirt freshman from Hartford, Conn., averaged 14.0 points, 6.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds in a split week for the Explorers. She had 18 points and a game-high seven assists in a win over Saint Louis. She followed with 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists in a narrow loss to Richmond.  

Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll


Dayton’s Lauren Cannatelli led the Flyers to a pair of wins last week and averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 assists and shot 40 percent from beyond the arc…Duquesne’s Julijana Vojinovic scored a career-high 28 points to go with seven assists in a win over VCU last week…G’mrice Davis matched her career-high with 21 rebounds in Fordham’s win over Davidson…Fordham freshman Bre Cavanaugh scored a game-high 19 points in the win over Davidson…George Mason freshman Nicole Cardano-Hillary averaged 17.0 points, 2.5 steals and 2.0 rebounds last week and has scored in double-figures in all 25 games…La Salle’s Adreana Miller scored a season-high 25 points to go along with a career-high six three-pointers in a win over Saint Louis…St. Bonaventure’s Mariah Ruff had 30 points on 10-of-21 shooting and was 6-of-12 from beyond the arc in an overtime loss to VCU…Returning to the lineup after missing several games, Saint Joseph’s Chelsea Woods led the Hawks to a 2-0 week and averaged 14.5 points and 7.0 rebounds…Saint Louis’ Jackie Kemph recorded back-to-back 20 points games and averaged 21.0 points and 7.0 assists for the week.
