A-10 Weekly Honors: Richmond's Hinds-Clarke Nabs Rookie Honors Again

Davis, Stipanovich Share A-10 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors

Richmond’s Hinds-Clarke Earns Second Straight Rookie of the Week Honor


NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Fordham’s G’Mrice Davis and Saint Louis’ Sadie Stipanovich were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Co-Players of the Week while Richmond freshman Jaide Hinds-Clarke (pictured in white, #1 below) earned Rookie of the Week honors. The awards, announced Monday, were for games played Dec. 26 – Jan. 1.

Davis averaged 14.0 points and 13.3 rebounds and was 17-of-36 (.472) from the field over three games last week for the Rams. The junior from Philadelphia, recorded a double-double in all three games last week, including 13 points and 15 rebounds against Buffalo, 10 points and 14 rebounds against UNC Asheville and 19 points and 11 rebounds against Rhode Island.

Stipanovich averaged 22.0 points and 7.0 rebounds over two games last week for the Billikens. The senior from St. Louis, scored 33 points on 14-of-22 shooting in a 106-69 win against Davidson in Saint Louis’ conference opener. The 14 made field goals were a career-high for Stipanovich and the 33 points were two short of tying a career-high. In only 14 minutes against Lipscomb earlier in the week, Stipanovich had 11 points and seven rebounds in 83-38 victory.

Hinds-Clarke averaged 11.0 points and 3.5 rebounds on 10-of 13 (.769) shooting from the field as the Spiders recorded wins against Morgan State and Saint Joseph’s. The freshman from Westwood, N.J., has now scored in double-figures in three consecutive games.

Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll

Dayton’s Jenna Burdette averaged 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in the Flyers’ three games last week, guiding Dayton to a 2-1 record. The junior point guard capped off the week with 21 points, five rebounds, and nine assists in the win over Massachusetts. Dayton freshman Jayla Scaife averaged 7.7 points off the bench for the Flyers last week including a 14-point performance against Liberty on Wednesday, going 3-of-4 from three-point range…George Mason’s Kara Wrightaveraged 14.7 points and 4.0 assists in three games last week for the Patriots. Wright had 20 points and eight rebounds in a 52-49 win over St. Bonaventure…George Washington’s Lexi Martins had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the Colonials’ 75-40 win against Duquesne…La Salle’s Amy Griffin scored a season-high 27 points and added seven rebounds in a win over Missouri-Kansas City. She followed with 16 points and five rebounds against VCU on Sunday…Rhode Island’s Charise Wilson averaged 33.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists last week…Richmond’s Lauren Tolson had 10 points and 11 rebounds against Morgan State and followed with 17 points and nine rebounds against Saint Joseph’s…St. Bonaventure’s Mariah Ruff averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals to start conference play for the Bonnies…Saint Joseph’sAdashia Franklyn set a new school single-game rebound record this weekend with 25 rebounds against Richmond. For the week, she averaged 16.5 points and 15 rebounds for the Hawks…VCU’s Curteeona Brelove had 19 points and a career-high 14 rebounds against Brown and followed it with a career-high 20 points and eight rebounds against La Salle.
