FIVE Conference Games Saturday!

Separation is already beginning in the Atlantic 10 standings, and today, co-league leader LaSalle looks to take a half-game lead on George Washington as they host UMass, 0-2 in league play, in a 1pm game in Philadelphia.

Richmond, at 1-2, wants to keep the upper half of the league within their sights. To do that, they must find a way to win at Fordham, smarting after their first conference loss on Wednesday to Duquesne. The Rams are stingy, leading the A-10 in scoring defense, allowing just 56.1 points per contest. Richmond's biggest woe this year may be on the boards, as their rebounding margin against opponents after 16 games stands at -4.2. Tipoff is at 2pm.

Speaking of Duquesne, they find themselves in the western outpost of the Atlantic 10: St. Louis. The Billikens are also 0-2 and in need of an early turnaround in fortunes. Duquesne leads the A-10 in blocked shots, averaging almost five per game. Sadie Stipanovich will provide heavy opposition on the boards. Sadie is 11th in the conference averaging 7.5 boards per game. Gametime is 3pm.

Also at 2pm up in Kingston, Rhode Island, the league's two 0-3 teams square off, one will get that first conference victory. The Rhode Island Rams are 5-11 overall, while George Mason is 6-10. One possible key to this matchup: free throw shooting. The Patriots are #2 in the conference in FT percentage at 75.6 percent, while Rhode Island is 12th, at 64.7 percent.

Finally, Dayton welcomes St. Bonaventure for a 5pm contest. The 1-0 Flyers are 8-4 overall, while the Bonnies are 1-1 in conference, 12-5 overall. Dayton leads the A-10 in scoring offense, averaging 89.2 points per game. The Bonnies are 11th out of 13 teams, averaging 62.1.
