This Week's Games, Tournament Implications

Every game is huge with just three remaining for Atlantic 10 teams as the 2017 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship begins at the end of next week! The top two conference finishers head straight to Richmond for the March 3rd quarterfinals, while seeds three through eight will host first round games at their sites February 25th and 26th. Here's a look at the next set of games this week, and what they mean for each team.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 14:

Davidson 52, Fordham 51: A crushing loss for Fordham's slight hopes for a first round bye, while the Wildcats are still alive for the #8 seed, but need a lot of help.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 15:

Saint Joseph's 80, VCU 70: The Hawks shooting 71 percent in the third period and pull away from the Rams, who lose their fourth straight conference game and are in danger of starting the Atlantic 10 Championship on the road next weekend.

Richmond 56, UMass 45: Jaide Hinds-Clarke scores eleven points and grabs nine rebounds as the Spiders move past VCU in the Atlantic 10 standings, catching Duquesne for a tie for seventh place as head coach Michael Shafer earns his 200th win as Richmond coach.

Dayton 66, Duquesne 47: Dayton draws closer to the regular season title, led by Lauren Cannatelli's 24 points. The Dukes now fight Richmond and VCU for the right to start the tournament at home.

George Washington 63, St. Bonaventure 57: Lexi Martins pours in 21 points as the Colonials keep pace with Saint Louis just one game behind conference leader Dayton with two games remaining.

Saint Louis 79, La Salle 74: Sadie Stipanovich scores 28 points as the Billikens get a huge road win over one of the surprise teams in the Atlantic 10. Amy Griffin poured in 28 points of her own for the Explorers, who still look primed to host a first round game.

George Mason 60, Rhode Island 51: The frustration mounts for the Rams, winless in conference play, as the Patriots move to 6-8 behind 14 points from Tiffany Padgett and 13 points from Kara Wright.
